Santa came my way!

My DH has done everything he can to help me get back into quilting.......he bought me a Go Cutter, Start Right quilting frame, and a steam press!  Oh, and a Kindle Fire. Oh my, I still can't believe it....I think he is caught up with gift giving for years!!

I can't wait to play with the Go Cutter.   I didn't know I had to order the cutting mats separately.  I thought one mat came with each die.  I ordered enough to hold me for awhile. :-)

Slowly coming back.

I have been out of blogging/quilting and just about everything for the last 4 months due to surgery complications.  I hope to, slowly, return to all the things I love to do....blogging and quilting.

The burned wall hanging

I was asked to make a duplicate as close as possible of this wall hanging that has been in a fire.  Surprisingly I found the fabric easier than the thread color.  The original was made of blends and I used only cotton.  It was so hard for me to NOT quilt this. I hope the person likes it.  I don't know this lady. All I know is she works at Wal-mart and her grandmother made it for her.

Brown Bag Quilt Challenge

I enjoyed making this.  This was a challenge since I have very little turquoise fabric to add.  Circle sewing was also new to me. I had so much fun with this I made a permanent template to make more.  I have plans to give this to someone special.

This is the back.  I had to find a place to use up all the swap fabric sent to me from my swap partner, Linda.

Yoga Wall Hanging

I plan to make all colors of these and see about selling them on Etsy.  I made one for my Yoga instructor some years ago and she used it on the cover of her CD.  I did make it much larger.  Maybe I will make another that size.  This one is 12  x 11 inches. It was kind'a neat to have a decoration in our Yoga room. Not sure anyone would want one. I shall see.

What is this embroidery stitch called?

I am reposting this picture.  I wish to learn more about this stitch.  It was on several of the old 1920-30's quilts. Are people still using this stitch?
